It’s built on the open-source EVerest framework, an open-source software stack for EV charging stations originally initiated by PIONIX.

PIONIX BaseCamp offers a standardized, hardware-agnostic software stack designed to simplify development and ensure compatibility across a wide range of charging protocols, including OCPP 1.6/2.0.1 and ISO 15118-2/-20. By eliminating the need to constantly adapt to evolving standards, manufacturers can free up resources to focus on innovation and value creation. In addition to protocol compatibility, BaseCamp simplifies the integration of custom features, supports a variety of hardware platforms, and guarantees compliance with industry standards. Security is a top priority, with measures such as enabling X.509 PKI signed updates, secure communication channels, TPM integration, and OTA updates to keep chargers secure and up-to-date.
