The passport monitors vehicle batteries in real time, providing recommendations to prolong the battery’s lifespan and simplifies the second-life use.The Battery Passport has been developed by telematics and fleet management software provider CodeSmith Technology and vehicle networking specialist Warwick Control Technologies and will be implemented in all Electra vehicles.
"As a responsible vehicle manufacturer, Battery Passport enables Electra to meet its battery recycling responsibilities by diverting batteries away from disposal and into the second-life sector. Our customers directly benefit from the Battery Passport as it secures the batteries residual value, providing a better price to the vehicle owner when the battery is sold into the second-life market," says Ben Smith, Managing Director of Electra Commercial Vehicles.
